Step Back Into Science at Kinneil – free event, Monday 6 May

Head to Kinneil Estate on the holiday Monday, 6 May, for a free event for all the family as part of this year’s Falkirk Science Festival.

‘Step Back Into Science’ is the newest addition to this year’s festival.

Take a step back in time – with an area rich in science history, engulf yourself with knowledge from the progression of different revolutionary inventions which shaped our country and beyond! There will be activities giving insights into transportation, dinosaurs and Kinneil’s scientific heritage.

The event runs from 11am-3pm, no booking needed.

Follow ‘Falkirk Leisure and Culture‘ on Facebook for additional festival information – to whom any queries about the event should be directed.

Come and meet our volunteers from the Friends of Kinneil, who will also be taking part in the event with a free activity inspired by James Watt – the great Scottish inventor and scientist who developed and tested his steam engine in the grounds next to Kinneil House during the 18th Century: one of our guides can tell you the story.

Other organisations involved include the Scottish Railway Museum.

Plus… dinosaurs!

During the day there are also bouncy castles in the park – separate entry: visit ‘Bounce in the Park‘ on Facebook for details – and Kinneil Museum will be open free during the event as well.
