FALKIRK Council Provost Pat Reid and his wife Sandra joined the crowds
who visited Kinneil House on Saturday.
The historic mansion was opened to visitors by Historic Scotland and
the Heritage group The Friends of Kinneil. Old Fair films were also
shown in the neighbouring Kinneil Museum.
A Friends spokesman said: “It was a busy afternoon. More than 220
people visited the House in just over three hours. As well as the
Provost and his wife, we had visits from lots of local people – and
some former Bo’nessians too. One person signing the visitors’ book had
come from Western Australia.
“These open days are always popular and we’d like to thank Historic
Scotland and Falkirk Council for their support.”
The House is expected to re-open to visitors on Sunday, September 23,
for the Kinneil Hertiage Day.
