Kinneil Estate and the Friends of Kinneil have received acclaim in the Scottish Parliament. The Friends of Kinneil are grateful to constituency MSP Michelle Thomson, and to other MSPs across parties who have supported the parliamentary motion reproduced below.
This news arrived on Monday 4 October, just in time to be given to the Friends’ AGM that evening, and offering encouragement and motivation to the charity’s dedicated volunteers. With paradoxical irony, however, Councillors from across the same parties unfortunately then appeared to send a very different message to the Friends and to the community, when they decided the next day effectively to put Kinneil to the back of the queue for any major external fundraising or investment effort.
