Historic Kinneil House in Bo’ness is open for free tours this Saturday, September 16, 2017.
The mansion – boasting some of the best Renaissance wall paintings in Scotland – will be open from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Last admission will be 3.30 p.m.
Guides from The Friends of Kinneil charity will be on hand to take tours around Kinneil House and answer questions.
No need to book, just turn up – although children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
In the surrounding Kinneil Estate will be a Big Roman Day, part of the Big Roman Week festival. The Antonine Guard re-enactment group will be on duty. There will be stalls and refreshments. Kinneil Museum will also be open.
The event has been organised by The Friends in association with Historic Environment Scotland and Falkirk Community Trust.
This Saturday’s open afternoon also supports Doors Open Days in Scotland.
The September 16 event is part of a series of free activities at the House in 2017. More here: www.kinneil.org.uk/2017opendays
