John Muir Way, Nature reserve

Fun event at Foreshore

johnmuir-logo1A variety of events are being held locally to celebrate the birthday of John Muir – and the second anniversary of the opening of the trail in his name (which runs through Kinneil).

On Thursday, April 21, 2016, there’s a “Meadows Discovery Day” at the Kinneil Foreshore / Nature Reserve.

From 10 a.m. to noon, you can get hands on dealing with meadow and woodland management (over 18s only)

Then from 1-2.30 p.m. it’s a bug hunt (suitable for all ages). Learn about bees and other pollinating insects, as well as the flowers that they forage from.

The event has been organised by the charity Buglife in conjunction with Falkirk Council’s Ranger Service. Participants will meet at the Foreshore, off Snab Lane, Bo’ness, EH51 0PS. Please wear sturdy footwear and remember to bring warm clothes and waterproofs.

Booking is essential! To book please contact Suzanne Burgess at suzanne.burgess@buglife.org.uk or call 01786 447504.
