Discuss plans for Kinneil orchard

apples2The Friends of Kinneil in association with Forth Environment Link, Central Scotland Green Network Trust and Falkirk Community Trust will be holding an open meeting on Wednesday, November 25, in the large room above Bo’ness Library. Up for discussion will be plans to restore the orchard beside Kinneil House in Bo’ness.

Come along! The meeting will run from 7 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. All are welcome.

We’ll discuss:

  • the findings from the ground surveys at Kinneil;
  • update you on research into the history of fruit and vegetable growing at the House; and
  • reveal responses that have arisen from the recent call for information about old fruit varieties grown in Bo’ness gardens.

We will also chat about developing, caring for, and using the orchard in the future, and hopefully come up with some agreement as to how we can take things forward. No experience or knowledge of orchards is necessary . . . just bags of enthusiasm!

If you’re interested in finding out more, or getting involved in work to recreate the orchard, come along.
