Friends report on busy year

The Friends of Kinneil charity has reported on a busy year. Chair Maria Ford told members about increased numbers of visitors to Kinneil House and a raft of activities during the group’s AGM at St. Mary’s Church Hall in Bo’ness.

Mrs Ford paid tribute to her hard working committee of volunteers and appealed for new people to come forward to help the group.

The meeting also included a minute’s silence for former Friends’ Treasurer and Vice-Chair David Broughton, who died in March this year.

Maria Ford, the chair of The Friends of Kinneil, said: “We had a really good AGM looking back on a busy year at Kinneil. We had increased numbers of visitors at Kinneil House. We also supported the revamp of Kinneil Museum. And we ran a lively events programme.

“We were delighted to welcome Annabelle Glenn from Bo’ness Public School to our annual general meeting. She told our wider membership about the work we’ve being doing to support pupils at the school to learn more about Kinneil – and the terrific feedback we’ve had from the children. It was lovely to see slides of Kinneil-themed activities at school.

“Next year will see the 10th birthday of The Friends of Kinneil. We’re keen to attract new members and supporters. Anyone interested should contact us via our website at www.kinneil.org.uk – or call me on 01506 510629.”
