Kinneil Museum in Bo’ness (pictured) re-opens to the public March 21 – after a much-needed ground floor revamp.
The new display will tell a story about Bo’ness town, presenting those features which have determined the changing character of the town over the centuries: the Romans, coal, the sea, pit props, pottery, Arts and Crafts and Art Deco architecture, cinema and ‘The Best Day of the Year’ – the Bo’ness Fair. The project, led by Falkirk Community Trust, has been made possible by a grant from Heritage Lottery Fund, and has received significant contributions from The Friends of Kinneil. Come along from March 21 and give your views on the new look.
* The museum will open earlier at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, to support the open morning at Kinneil House. The House will close at noon; however the museum will be open until 4 p.m. that day.
The museum will then move to its normal opening hours: 12.30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays to Fridays (with additional openings to support future Kinneil House events).
