Some of the walkers who took part in a trek along the line of the Antonine Wall. Sunday’s event – as part of Big Roman Week – led people from Polmont Old Parish Church to Callendar House in Falkirk. Historian Geoff Bailey, from Falkirk Community Trust, pointed out Roman sites and more modern buildings as he directed visitors along the World Heritage Site. The event was supported by The Friends of Kinneil.

The Roman festival comes to a close this weekend (September 20 and 21) with a family fun day at Kinneil Estate in Bo’ness; doors open days at Kinneil House and Watling Lodge, Tamfourhill; and a walk from Callendar House to Rough Castle Roman Fort.
