The Friends of Kinneil charity is hosting its annual James Watt Supper – a celebration about the inventor who worked at Kinneil – on Friday 17 January 2014, with a 7 p.m. for 7.30 p.m. start.
The event will take place in St Mary’s Church Hall, Dean Road, Bo’ness. It’s open to members of the charity priced just £7.50 a head – a bargain.

Maria Ford, chair of the charity, said: “Our good friend Ian Scott has agreed once again to entertain us and we are at the stage of finalising the rest of the evening’s events. We will, of course, have our usual raffle. Please get in touch if you have a problem with transport as the Committee are willing to pick you up and take you home, if you live in the Bo’ness area.”
She added: “The price of the ticket will be £7.50 to Members and their guests. If you wish others to attend then the cost to non-members is £10. If you wish to drink alcohol, you are welcome to bring along your own tipple as this is not included in the price of the ticket. However we will provide some soft drinks. To book a ticket, please send a cheque written out to THE FRIENDS OF KINNEIL and send it to: James Watt Supper, c/o Maria Ford, 16 Craigallan Park, Bo’ness, EH51 9QY.”
The event is a new take on the traditional Burns’ Supper, with the focus on Watt rather than the Bard (who also visited Bo’ness).
