THE ROMANS are returning to Kinneil Estate in Bo’ness.
The park’s annual heritage day on Sunday, August 26, has a Roman theme. Organisers at Falkirk Community Trust are promising “lots of free fun games, activities , crafts and entertainment”. Best of all admission is free. The fun in the park kicks off at 12.30 p.m. and runs until 4.30 p.m. Kinneil House will also be open that afternoon for free tours. Note the slightly earlier times for the House – you can see inside from noon to 4 p.m., with a last admission at 3.30 p.m. Again admission is free of charge.
Roman soldiers came to Kinneil Estate to build the Antonine Wall and a roman fortlet, not far from Kinneil House. Find out more in Kinneil Museum. See www.kinneil.org.uk/attractions for details.
