BLACKNESS Castle and Linlithgow Palace are two of the local Historic Scotland properties open from free on November 27 and 28. It’s part of a national initiative to mark St. Andrew’s Day.

* Kinneil House in Bo’ness is closed for the winter period, but will re-open for free open days in April 2010. Remember, however, that Kinneil Museum is open all year, normally from Monday to Saturday from 12.30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.
