ENJOY a free tour inside Kinneil House in Bo’ness this Sunday.
The visit will be part of a free guided walk through the surrounding Kinneil Estate – which also boasts a Roman fortlet and medieval church.
Author and historian Ian Scott, from Falkirk Local History Society, will tour the impressive parkland and tell visitors about Kinneil’s fascinating history. Anyone interested just has to turn up. Meet at Kinneil Museum at 1.30 p.m. for a 1.45 p.m. start on Sunday, July 25.
The event has been organised by the charity The Friends of Kinneil with the support of Historic Scotland.
A Friends spokesman said: “We ran a similar event last year and it was very successful. This year the walk is boosted with a tour inside Kinneil House, which is normally closed at this time of year. If you want to discover some local history – or have a look inside the House – just come along to the estate on Sunday, July 25. The event is free of charge.”
The spokesman added: “The walk should be suitable for all ages – although the tour inside the House involves a climb up stairs. Please wear sensible walking shoes and suitable clothing.”
