A CHARITY is urging history lovers to make a date with Kinneil Estate.
The historical Bo’ness parkland features throughout The Friends of Kinneil’s 2010 calendar, which can now be downloaded for free from www.kinneil.org.uk
A spokesperson said: "We produce the free calendar every year and it’s always popular with local people. Just visit our website and click the link. All you need is Adobe Acrobat Reader – found on most modern PCs – to download and view the calendar. You can then print it out on any home laser or inkjet printer.”
The calendar is one of a series of free downloads accessible from the Friends’ website. The spokesperson said: "There’s videos, slideshows – and links to useful documents about Kinneil. There’s also news and information about the Friends of Kinneil, which works to promote the estate. We hope local people and visitors find it useful.”
The Friends was set up in 2006. The group works with Historic Scotland to run open days at historic Kinneil House and also works to promote and enhance the surrounding Kinneil Estate. More open days are planned for 2010. Details will be announced soon.
Anyone interested in joining the Friends of Kinneil can email: firstname.lastname@example.org. Alternatively, write to: Membership, The Friends of Kinneil, 16 Craigallan Park, Bo’ness, EH51 9QY. Full details are also available on the website.
