BBC’S big Christmas drama, The 39 Steps, was filmed on the Bo’ness and Kinneil Railway. Shooting took place around Birkhill Station, near historic Kinneil Estate, and at the main Bo’ness Station – operated by the Scottish Railway Preservation Society. The John Buchan drama, starring Rupert Penry-Jones, airs on BBC-1 tonight (Sunday) at 8 p.m.
