Friends visit Lennoxlove

MEMBERS of the charity The Friends of Kinneil have visited the historic home of the Dukes of Hamilton. A party from the group had an exclusive tour around Lennoxlove, near Haddington, today (Sunday). The House, dating back 700 years, is home to the Hamilton family’s extensive art collection and items belonging to Mary Queen of Scots. The property also includes portraits of some of the current Duke’s ancestors – closely linked with Bo’ness and Kinneil House, a former Hamilton property. A Friends spokesperson said: “It was a great opportunity to learn more about the family we talk so much about during open days at Kinneil House. Lennoxlove is normally only open for guided tours from April to October. However, the management agreed to this special visit from the Friends of Kinneil at the weekend. It was a great day out.”
