House open this Saturday

HISTORIC Kinneil House in Bo’ness is opening its doors this Saturday, June 28. The A-listed mansion, which boasts some of the best renaissance wall paintings in Scotland, will provide free access to visitors from 12 noon to 4 p.m (last admission 3.30 p.m.). The open day has been organised by Historic Scotland in conjunction with the charity The Friends of Kinneil, and ties in with the 100th Bo’ness Fair. The Children’s Festival was originally held in front of the imposing building.

Further free open days will be held on September 21 and November 1 (for Hallowe’en). The open days also feature in the latest issue of Historic Scotland’s Friends’ magazine, out now.
