THE Friends of Kinneil is encouraging residents to go online and spread some festive cheer this winter. The charity has teamed up with online retailers to help it raise funds.
Treasurer Maria Ford explained: “People simply have to visit our website and click through the special links to visit online stores like Amazon and M&S.
“They can then buy Christmas gifts as normal – at the same prices as going to these firm’s websites directly. However, the companies will give us a commission for anyone passing through our website. This means you can bag a bargain and help a charity at the same time – at no extra cost to you.”
To access the special stores – simply visit www.kinneil.org.uk/store – and click the links on the page. This includes a link to a special Amazon website, allowing people to buy Kinneil-themed books and merchandise online.
All money raised will go support the Friends of Kinneil work to promote and support the development of historic Kinneil Estate. The charity runs events and talks and also supports open days at the A-listed Kinneil House.
The Friends of Kinneil also produces its own cards, notelets and even limited edition Christmas cards for sale. These are available from a variety of local outlets, including Kinneil Museum and Country Fayre, South Street, Bo’ness.
