FAMILIES are set to flock to Kinneil Estate in Bo’ness this Sunday
(September 23) for the park’s annual heritage day.
The event – organised by Falkirk Council’s community services’ team –
has a wizard theme this year. Actors starring as Harry Potter, Hagrid
and Dumbledore will be one hand, as well as the Pheonix Falconry
Birds of Prey. There will also be stalls, face painting, a charity
market and much more.
The event runs from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Councillor Adrian Mahoney, the convener of environment and heritage
at the council, said: “Magical workshops for youngsters are being
planned and I hope lots of families have a wizard day out. Last
year’s event was marred by bad weather. So here’s hoping for
some sunshine this year.”
Historic Kinneil House – which features renaissance wall paintings –
will also be open during the heritage day. Free tours will be
available from 12.30 p.m. to 4 p.m. on the Sunday. The House will
also be open on Saturday, September 22.
