THE history of Kinneil Estate in Bo’ness will come under the spotlight next
week. Geoff Bailey, the keeper of archaeology and local history at Falkirk Museum,
is to make a presentation on the area’s heritage to members of The Friends
of Kinneil.
Friends chairman Adrian Mahoney said: “Kinneil is part of the proposed
Antonine Wall World Heritage Site. The area has a fascinating history and
we’re delighted that Geoff has taken time out of his busy schedule to talk
to our members. We’re sure it will be an enjoyable event.”
Mr Mahoney said the talk – next Thursday evening, February 8, in the large
room above Bo’ness Library – was open to all Friends members and their
invited guests.
“We’ve organised a variety of free events for the public, but felt it was
important to also offer events specifically for our paying members, who fund
the running of the group. We don’t receive grants or public subsidy, so the
support of our core members is vital.”
Anyone interested in joining the Friends of Kinneil can email
info@kinneil.org.uk or call the group’s membership secretary, Maria Ford, on
